Special Effects With Sound

The Sound requirements

Adding sound onto your web page is quite easy. A simple audio file, that you desire, and a controller as above. The controller can ber set anywhere on your web page.

Their a few variation's the sound controller you can have on your web page. The one above is the standard, the width and height keep it compact, but allow your visitors to control the music or sound that is played.

Variation's such as, repeating over and over, volume controls, how it starts, whether, the visitor turns it on, or it start's automatically, can be set by you. OR if you can see the audio control's at all, can be set.

Things to consider. If the sound controller is hidden, and sound plays over & over, it can get annoying, sending your visitor's away. So it is always advisable to set the controller as it is above.

Starting the sound file automatically, can be a good option, and setting it to play once, with the visitor's option to replay it when they are ready.

The larger the sound file, the longer it will take for some of your visitor's, on slower internet connection, to load and play it. The sound file above, that we have used, is 1.4mb, a fairly small file in today's standards, but some files can be quite large.

Find a music or sound file that you'd like to use.  Midi (.mid) is a good sound format to use because these files are generally smaller and load quickly.

You can also use .mp3 or .wav (wave) music, but keep in mind that if you do go this route, it will take the music longer to load because the file size will be larger.  Be mindful of those who still have dial up Internet access.

Maybe run a few sound controllers, for various audio information, if you are keeping all the information in audio format, on a single web page.
